This is new for me, this is an opera length necklace (I'm learning new things!) that has a cute little clasp so you can wrap it around your neck and hook it in the front, it becomes a multi strand matinee length necklace.
Been playing with the filigree I've had laying around for years. Expect more of that, I'm in love with the filigree look. The adorable little dragonfly was once part of a toggle clasp, he's single now and accompanying the faceted glass pendant.
The chain consists of jump rings, chain and two tones of faceted glass beads that have little flecks of gold on the top and bottom.
Some day I'll measure it in length, I'll get back to you on that lol
Beautiful! Do you know where you found those filigree pieces you're playing with? I've wanted to use something similar in earrings for a while but never seem to be able to find nice, simple patterns like that.
I get my filigree at a stained glass supply store in my town. I've seen similar things through wholesale bead sites but nothing exactly like mine. Come to think of it though, most of the sites I've looked at are more elaborate pieces too.
My problem with mail order is that I want the stuff.... NOW lol not three days from now. Stained glass store works for me, if there's one in your area they might carry or be able to order these for you, they're common for glass art, I've looked at their order book.
Thanks! I don't think it would have occurred to me to check stained glass suppliers. I'm going to have to do some research.
I order almost everything I use from online suppliers, so I can probably tolerate the wait of mail order. I don't think we have any stained glass supply in my immediate vicinity (within 10 mi) but I'm sure there's something in the general area -- I live too close to an urban area for there to be nothing available.
I wish I had that problem! I'm pretty much in the middle of nowhere, the best beads are a good hour from here. I can get a decent craft store in abut 45 minutes. I'd really like to get into mail ordering more, I've been browsing and can't get a lot of the things I want otherwise.
I've found a lot of places are pretty quick with deliveries (and if you're really anxious, there's always express mail ). I don't know about you, but a personal favorite supplier of mine is FireMountainGems.com - they're always very quick, even when I don't pay for the extra fast shipping. The real patience tester is ordering rings for chain maille pieces. I order from a Canadian company and it can take up to two weeks! o.O I almost go crazy waiting for those when they're for a special project.
2 weeks, holy cow! That's too long for me lol especially if I'm working on something I can't finish without them.
I've ordered from Fire Mountain They were speedy, I got the bust I use from them. There are a couple other places I have my eye on I might give a try later this month. I'll let you know how it goes lol
