Chainmail Necklace S6 by DesireeMorte Chainmail Necklace S6 by DesireeMorte
I started this necklace over a year ago!!!!! It's about time I got around to finishing it. lol. This is japanese chainmail with a blue glass bead. The centerpiece is actually one half of a hook I found at a craft store. I love the detail on it, it's like a celtic knot. It's a shame I couldn't pick up better detail with the camera. I'm very pleased with how this one turned out, especially since I had no idea where it was going when I started it lol.

lol that's what I go for, I don't want my chainmail to be the 'traditional' style, I like to mix it up, do my own thing. I go for elegant more than anything. :-) Thanks for the comments!

It's so much fun figuring a piece out as you go. Sometimes the results are even better than planned. This is certainly a perfect example of that! Simply stunning work! :D

Thank you so much! I very rarely have a piece work out exactly as I plan. But I'm almost always happy with the outcome.

"Very elegant", that's the first thing appearing in my brain after looking at the piece. A subtle, intricate looking piece of chainmaille, an original centerpiece and the matching blue bead, it all forms a complete, well-thought picture. So maybe it's good it took that long?

omg i love this! i own alot of necklaces with this type of style. But this is the prettiest one ive seen!!! the center piece is pretty with the necklace, even without a close up. and the color of the blue bead works amazingly with the silver chains!!

Thanks! I wondered over and over if I should add a different color. I liked that the single blue bead was the only one though so I kept it the way it is. I also like the way the blue compliments the silver :-)
