Description
This piece is a commission. The objective was to make something, I had all creative freedom, that would look splendid.... hanging in a decorative frame.
This is a Byzantine chainmaille weave, as with all my pieces, the links wound and cut each by hand. I used 20 gauge wire with 4mm links and 22 gauge wire with 2mm links. 6mm Ruby fire polished glass, black Swarovski crystal drop, and a piece of faceted antique glass in the center held in place by another filigree.
The chain drapes are all 2mm links of 22 gauge wire in the Byzantine weave.... which took a good bit of time to make. All in all, I'm happy with it though.

Spectacular! How long did it take to make this? And just how much of a pain in the butt is it to make your own rings? I cheat and buy them pre-cut.
